Earthlog · Signals on the faultlines
How unusual is the last 24 hours of news in each manufacturing and logistics hub, compared with that country's own recent normal?
| Hub | Score | 0–100 | Tier |
|---|
Score blends how unusual the last 24 hours are for that country (70%) with how tense its normal coverage is compared with all countries (30%). The "why it moved" column is the best alert signal; a high score on a hub that always has tense coverage may just reflect a chronic situation.
This index measures media attention and tone in GDELT's machine-coded news, not ground truth. Small countries have thin coverage and can be noisy. Later versions will add shipping, outage and thermal data.
